Boscastle

This weeks collection are from our holiday in Devon and we spent a very pleasent day in Boscastle.

Boscastle has fond memories for me as I can remember going their as a child with my parents on a lovely holiday.

As most of you will know on 16th August 2004 Boscastle suffered a flood which devistated the whole village but now the village is beautiful and very inviting.

The pretty river

The pretty river

This is looking from the village down towards the harbour, it's hard to believe that during the flood the buildings were taken down by this river and cars floated out to sea.

The draw of the water is just too much for my boys and they have to play in it.

This is looking back down the river from the bridge that was washed away in the 2004 floods.

As we walked around Boscastle it feels very friendly and everyone seemed to be smiling even after what must of been a very difficult time.We spent a lovely day here wandering around the village, river and harbour, we highly recommend it.
