This photo was taken while on the North Yorkshire railway. The countryside is lovely on this journey.

Goathland Station

Goathland Station

Goathland station is the one that is used in TV programme Heartbeat, the village is better known in the programme as Aidensfield.

The North Yorkshire Railway runs from Pickering to Grosmont and it is a busy steam railway. It sits in some beautiful countryside and Goathland village (Aidensfield) is packed with tourists but it just seems to add to the atmosphere of the place. We spent a wonderful day enjoying the sights, sounds and the smell of steam, what more could you ask for. Sunny weather!

These next three photos are of a small fishing village called Robin Hood's Bay which is a few miles south of Whitby, North Yorkshire.

A pretty little village, lots to see and a good bay to play in when the tide is out.
