Hartland Quay
This weeks set of photos were taken on the North coast of Devon at Hartland Quay which is a few miles up the coast from Bude.
What a delightful day we spent in and around this small area, Hartland Quay itself was beautiful with it lovely beach and some wonderful rocks for us to climb over and do some rock pooling.
Hartland Quay has a hotel, a small but lovely shop selling all the seaside items for a day at the beach and delicious ice cream. Above the shop there is the Hartland Quay Museum which is very well presented and informative. Lots of information about the many ship wrecks that have happened here over the years.
All in all a great day out, enjoy the photos....
Looking out to sea
Here I was standing on the cliff coastal path over looking the car park that we had parked in at Hartland Quay. I wish I could take a few months off so I could walk some of our beautiful coastal paths, with views like this at every turn.
Watching you, watching me
Running to the top
The boys decided to run to the top of this cliff. It was so steep!
At the top
This was them at the top....
Jess keeping active
This is Jess in her favourite place, water. She would run up and down here all day.
More water for Jess to play in
What are they all looking at?
Here the family were playing, making a small dam across the river but Jess had other ideas and just wanted them to play with her.
More playing
This was the small stream that ran down to the cliff edge and then cascaded over to the cove below.
Rock pooling
Back at Hartland Quay the rocks were wonderful for rock pooling and as you can see there must have been plenty to see in them.
Across the rocks and out to sea
Looking back
This was taken from the beach and looking back up to Hartland Quay.
Splash
The next three photos I took while they were playing on the rocks, I actually took loads but this is just a few.
Lovely
Looks very inviting but chilly even in August
