Beaulieu Steam Festival

This weeks pictures are from a trip we had to Beaulieu Motor Museum in the New Forest where they were having their first Steam Festival. It was a lovely setting and the weather was good, a good way to spend a Saturday...

Sir John Fowler again

This engine for us is very special as he also belonged to my husband's great grandad along with our engine "Victoria". They stood next to each other along with another engine called "Albert" for many years in the shed in Petersfield Hampshire. We had seen the engine before but along time ago and sitting in a shed looking very sorry for himself. It was great when here we could see he was being loved and looked after, Lloyd (my husband) had a great day with him and the Cook family who now own him.

This is the Grenville steam carriage, a one off built in 1890 by Robert Grenville and George Churchward.

Although it's very old and spent most of the day steaming round the roads in Beaulieu and what a sight it was.
